As we journey through the month of February, we are reminded of the beautiful transition in our liturgical cycle—from the prolongation of the joy of Christmas to the preparation for Easter. On February 2, we celebrate the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord, also known as Candlemas, where the light of Christ is proclaimed to the nations.
At this point of the school year, many of you are looking ahead to the second half of the year. You might be looking at what you have accomplished and adjusting your plan. Because Spirit of Truth is spiraled, the quality or depth of your lessons is more important than the quantity of topics covered. To help you see the big picture over the whole series, we have provided planning and pacing documents, which can be found here. Check out the topic spiral and the scope and sequence. You can see how the themes vertically align.
Just as Simeon recognized Christ as the “Light for revelation to the Gentiles,” your vocation as Catholic educators allows you to illuminate the path of faith, knowledge, and love for your students. May the blessing of Christ’s light inspire you as you guide young hearts toward Him.
I am here to support your day-to-day work with Spirit of Truth. It is a joy to speak with you over the phone or Zoom; here is my calendar.
God bless,
Ingrid
