Our Spiritual Enemy

Satan and demons are very real, and they constantly prowl about the world seeking our ruin. Even so, we should not fear him, but must defend against him. Jesus has already defeated Satan by His Cross and Resurrection 鈥 a defeat the Devil did not see coming.

  • Angel
    :
    An angel is a messenger from God.
  • Lucifer
    :
    Title given to Satan before his fall, denoting his position as closest to God among the angelic hierarchy. Hebrew for 鈥渓ight-bearer.鈥
  • Satan
    :
    Title given to Lucifer after his fall. Hebrew for 鈥渢he adversary.鈥
  • Devil
    :
    A title given to Lucifer after his fall. Can also be used to refer other demons. Latin for 鈥渁ccuser鈥 or 鈥渟landerer.鈥
  • Temptation
    :
    A temptation is something that attracts or lures a person to sin.
  • Fortitude
    :
    鈥淭o persevere in what is right.鈥 A Cardinal Virtue that helps us continue in when faced with difficulty.
  • Temperance
    :
    鈥淩ight amount鈥 A Cardinal Virtue that helps us to find a balance between too much and too little of the good things in life.
