In this week‘s Gospel passage, Jesus denounces the scribes and Pharisees for their pride. He proclaims that whoever exalts himself will be humbled, but whoever humbles himself will be exalted. In this lesson, students will explore what various saints say about the virtue of humility.

Directions

  1. Have your students read the Gospel passage for the week and complete the focus questions.
  2. Review and discuss the answers when they have completed the focus questions.
  3. Have your students write a response to the writing prompt from The Saints on Humility.
  4. Gather students together and discuss the main points from their answers.
