Workshop Overview

Explore the beauty of Catholic Social Teaching and how the principles taught by it and the Gospel are the answer to bringing about racial reconciliation. 

The Archdiocese of Los Angeles High School Faith Formation Days will take place on September 30th, October 1st, 2nd, 3rd, & 4th of 2024 in the 5 different regions of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.

September 30th:  San Gabriel Region-Bishop Amat High School

October 1st:  San Fernando Region- Bishop Alemany High School

October 2nd:  Our Lady of the Angels Region- Bishop Conaty-Our Lady of Loreto HS

October 3rd:  Santa Barbara Region- St. Bonaventure High School

October 4th:  San Pedro Region- St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy

Registration for these days is being handled by your principal and the Archdiocese of Los Angeles

    Lectio Divina Reflection on Reconciliation

    Begin our time together by prayerfully reflecting on Scripture and engaging in discussion with your colleagues.

    Catholic Social Teaching and Racial Reconciliation Part 1

Jose Gonzalez

Jose Gonzalez joined the team at Sophia Institute for Teachers in 2014 after more than 10 years as a Catholic high school teacher. In addition to teaching, Jose has experience working in parish and diocesan ministry. Jose has been leading Workshops in over 70 dioceses for 10 years, and contributes regularly to our teacher’s guides and digital instructional resources. He has a BA in theology with a concentration in religious education from Franciscan University of Steubenville, and an MA in evangelization and catechesis from the Augustine Institute. Jose and his wife, Mary Beth, have four children.

Danielle Brown

Danielle M. Brown guides U.S. bishops mission to preach the Gospel in the context of race as it relates to the Great Commission. Also a lawyer, she is passionate about sharing the gospel which she has done nationally and internationally. Before relocating to Washington, D.C. in May 2018, she served on several boards, commissions, and ministries in Lansing, Michigan. She has been an assistant deputy legal counsel to the Governor of the State of Michigan, and an appellate and administrative law judge in Michigan. She currently serves on the boards of Renewal Ministries, Walking with Purpose, and GIVEN's advisory board.
