What Questions Are Raised by God’s Existence?

The existence of God raises many questions, which have given rise to many misconceptions.

  • Empirical Evidence
    :
    Information acquired by observation or experimentation.
  • Law of Noncontradiction
    :
    Philosophical principle that any logical contradiction is impossible; a proposition cannot by both true and false at the same time.
  • Deism
    :
    (n.): The belief that an all-powerful god created the universe but is not actively involved in sustaining it.
  • Young Earth Creationism
    :
    The view that the world is less than 10,000 years old, calculated by adding the ages of the people in the Bible from Adam to Abraham, whose date is established at about 1800 BC.
  • Naturalism
    :
    The notion that we cannot entertain a supernatural reality until every natural reason for physical reality has been exhausted.
