Living as a Disciple of Jesus

In order to be a disciple of Jesus we must love Him as our Savior and imitate Him.

Lesson Vocabulary

  • Conversion
    :
    (n.): A radical reorientation of one’s whole life away from sin and evil and toward God.
  • Sanctifying Grace
    :
    (n.): The free and undeserved gift of a share in God’s own life. It is a stable disposition, which means we remain in a state of grace unless we lose the divine life through mortal sin. We first receive sanctifying grace at Baptism, it is strengthened through the other Sacraments, and restored through the Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation.
  • Fortitude
    :
    (n.): A cardinal virtue that helps us persevere in the face of adversity and temptation.
  • Evangelical Counsels
    :
    (n.): The vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience made by those who enter consecrated life.
