Who is Jesus? The Incarnation

Jesus is fully God and fully man, possessing two natures, one divine and human, united in the one Person of God’s Son.

Lesson Vocabulary

  • Incarnation
    :
    The Incarnation is the fact that the Second Person of the Holy Trinity, the Son of God, assumed a human nature in the Person of Jesus Christ.
  • Annunciation
    :
    The Annunciation is when the Archangel Gabriel announced to Mary that she would be the Mother of Jesus.
  • Messiah
    :
    The Messiah is the person whom God promised to send to free His people from sin, suffering, and death. Hebrew for "anointed one."
  • Prophet
    :
    A prophet is someone who listens carefully to God's voice and then shares God's message with His people.
  • Sin
    :
    A sin is something that we say, do, think, or fail to do that does not love God, our neighbor, or ourselves, as God has taught us.
  • Sanctifying Grace
    :
    Sanctifying grace is the free gift of God’s love and life in our souls that is given to us by the Holy Spirit through the sacraments.
  • Nature
    :
    Nature is what something is.
