The Inspiration of Scripture and the Writing Styles of the Bible

All of Scripture is inspired by God. Just as the Spirit of God was present at the beginning of Creation and within Adam, so too is it present in the Scriptures.

  • Inspiration
    :
    The divine influence given to the human authors of Scripture. The Holy Spirit moved within them to chose their own words to write the truth God wanted written for the sake of our salvation.
  • Ruah
    :
    The Hebrew word for “breath” and “spirit.” Just as God breathed His “breath of life” into Adam when He created Him to give him life, God’s Spirit is present in the Scriptures, making them the living Word of God.
