Jesus the Messiah

Jesus is the Anointed One of God, the Messiah and Christ prophesied in the Old Testament, who came to save the world from sin and death.

Christ: Christ is the Greek word for “anointed one.” See Messiah. (453)
Divine Nature: That which makes God who and what He is, God. Jesus possessed both a divine nature and a human nature. He was 100% fully and 100% fully human.
Gifts of the Holy Spirit: We receive the gifts from the Holy Spirit when we are in a state of grace. They are: wisdom, knowledge, understanding, counsel, fortitude, piety, and fear of the Lord. The anointing performed in Confirmation is a sign of the reception of these gifts.
Human Nature: That which makes human beings human. Jesus possessed both a divine nature and a human nature. He was 100% fully and 100% fully human.
Incarnation: The dogma of the Church that teaches that the Second Person of the Holy Trinity, the Son of God, assumed a human nature in the Person of Jesus Christ.
