The Holy Spirit Was Sent by the Father and the Son

God breathes the breath of life into each of us and fills us with His Holy Spirit.

Lesson Vocabulary

  • Ruah
    :
Hebrew word for “breath,” “air,” or “wind.” It is also a word for “spirit.” The Holy Spirit is described in Scripture as the “breath” of God.
  • Breath of life
    :
The Spirit of God, or the Holy Spirit. In the Book of Genesis, God gave Adam life by breathing into his nostrils the “Breath of life.”
  • Pentecost
    :
"50 days." Pentecost is a special day of celebration in the Church that takes place 50 days after Jesus’ Resurrection from the dead. On the day of the original Pentecost, Jesus fulfilled His promise to send the Holy Spirit. They were strengthened by the Holy Spirit to go out and preach the Gospel.
