The Incarnation:True God and True Man

Jesus is one Person with two natures, divine and human.

Lesson Vocabulary

  • Incarnation
    :
    The dogma of the Church that teaches that the Second Person of the Holy Trinity, the Son of God, assumed a human nature in the Person of Jesus Christ.
  • Person
    :
    A unique individual. The Holy Trinity is three Persons in One God. Each Person of the Trinity is a unique individual, and fully God. Each of us are human persons, unique individuals created in the image and likeness of God, even before we are born.
  • Nature
    :
    What something is. Unlike any other person, Jesus has two natures: human and divine. Jesus is fully human and fully divine.
  • Divine
    :
    Of God. Jesus is fully divine, which means He is fully God.
  • Intellect
    :
    The intellect is the power of our soul that thinks and understands things.
  • Will
    :
    A person’s ability to choose and act based upon knowledge and understanding. It is one of the faculties of the human soul.
