Overview
Students learn more about who God is and how He made us. From the ten commandments to the Beatitudes, from the example of Christ to the those of His saints, students will learn how to live a blessed and happy life in their families and communities.
Units
Students will learn about the inherent Goodness of God, how we are made in His Image and what that means, and the abilities given to our souls because of this. In this unit, students will learn about the importance of the choices they make, and how essential they are in forming a good conscience. In this unit, will learn about the reality of sin, the need for forgiveness, and the importance of virtue in living a good and happy life. In this unit, students will learn about the commandments of God and the role obedience to the God's law plays in a full and happy life. In this unit, students will learn about the Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy and how they relate to the four loves and Catholic Social Teaching. They will then apply this to how they can build up the kingdom of God in their communities. In this unit, students will take a close look at the Beatitudes and how to live them out in their lives. I this unit, students will explore their lives in the Church through the Sacraments they receive, the vocation they are called to, and the community they live in. At the end of the unit, they will learn about several saints and be invited to throw a saintly dinner party!
