On Sunday September 7, 2025, the Church rejoices as two remarkable young men, Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati and Bl. Carlo Acutis, are officially declared saints. Though they lived in different times, both shared a burning love for Christ and a desire to bring others to Him through their ordinary lives. Pier Giorgio, known as the “man of the Beatitudes,” dedicated his short life in the early 20th century to serving the poor and living his faith with joy. Carlo, who died in 2006, used his love for technology and the internet to spread devotion to the Eucharist, inspiring countless people around the world. Their canonization reminds us that holiness is not reserved for the past or for a few, but is possible for every generation
We’ve shared a brief reading from our newest OCIA resource Called by Christ, which helps you prepare older children for the Sacraments. Your students will read about Pier Giorgio and Carlo Acutis, along with St. Therese of Lisieux, St. Martin de Porres, St. Kateri Tekakwitha, and others whose lives inspire us to live lives of virtue, growing ever closer to Christ.
