Workshop Overview

Explore the roots of the Church’s liturgical year and how you can lead your students to appreciate and live it throughout the year. You’ll explore activities you can implement in your classroom during the seasons of Advent, Lent, as well as Holy Days.

This Workshop blends scholar presentations with interactive pedagogical sessions, giving you a chance to explore content with a respected scholar, as well as explore and simulate practical teaching strategies with ready-to-use classroom materials. Share best practices and enjoy catered breakfast and lunch with your fellow Diocese of Wilmington teachers and catechists.

    Walking and Feasting with the Saints

    Explore a variety of interactive activities to help engage your students in the various liturgical feasts that take place throughout the school year.

  • 10:15-11:00am

    Liviing Liturgically

    Enjoy the first presentation by a respected Catholic speaker, followed by Q&A.

  • 11:00-11:15am

    Break

  • 11:15-12:00pm

    The Meaning of the Mass

    Participate in hands-on activities that will help your students come to see the true meaning of the Mass.

    Holy Mass

  • 12:45-1:30pm

    Lunch

  • 1:30-2:15pm

    Feasting and Fasting with the Church

    Enjoy the second presentation by a respected Catholic speaker, followed by Q&A.

  • 2:15-2:50pm

    Teaching the Liturgical Calendar

    Find creative ways to incorporate and teach the liturgical calendar throughout the school year with your students.
