Workshop Overview

Explore the various forms of prayer and how you can lead your students to enter into a more intimate relationship with Our Lord. You’ll also learn the examination of conscience, the importance of silence, and the different ways to pray, including Lectio Divina.

This Workshop blends scholar presentations with interactive pedagogical sessions, giving you a chance to explore content with a respected scholar, as well as explore and simulate practical teaching strategies with ready-to-use classroom materials. Share best practices and enjoy catered breakfast and lunch with your fellow  teachers.

    Sing to the Lord A New Song

    Experience how beauty can draw the heart toward God, enriching both personal devotion and communal prayer. Discover practical ways to incorporate music into prayer with your students. You will also spend time reflecting on some beautiful words on prayer by the some of the Saints.

  • 10:15-11:00am

    Prayer: A Surge of the Heart

    Enjoy the first presentation by a respected Catholic speaker, followed by Q & A.

    Speak Lord, Your Servant Is Listening

    Enter into lectio divina with various stories from the Gospel, creating space to encounter the Lord through Scripture, silence, and prayer. You’ll be invited to listen attentively, respond honestly, and enter into a personal dialogue with God.

    The Lord's Prayer

    Enjoy the second presentation by a respected Catholic speaker, followed by Q & A.

  • 1:30-2:05pm

    Seek and You Will Find; Knock and the Door Will be Opened

    Explore the richness of the Church’s many forms of prayer—petition, intercession, thanksgiving, and praise—by actively entering into each with your fellow participants. Pray with and for one another in small groups, gaining both a deeper experience of these forms and practical confidence in guiding your students to do the same.
