Workshop Overview

Discover how the Beatitudes reveal the deepest meaning of God’s law and offer a compelling vision of the moral life. In this Workshop, you’ll gain insights and practical strategies for helping your students understand that Catholicism is not merely about following rules, but about living in the freedom of virtue and truth. Together, we’ll explore ways to make morality meaningful and relevant, while reflecting on key themes such as freedom, virtue, sin, conscience, and the Beatitudes.

This Workshop blends scholar presentations with interactive pedagogical sessions, giving you a chance to explore content with a respected scholar, as well as explore and simulate practical teaching strategies with ready-to-use classroom materials. Share best practices and enjoy catered breakfast and lunch with your fellow Archdiocese of Omaha teachers.

    Participate in an interactive activity to introduce your students to the saints in a whole new way.

    The Beatitudes and the True Meaning of Life

    Enjoy the first of two presentations by Dr. Ramage, followed by Q&A.

  • 11:00-11:15am

    Break

  • 11:15-12:00pm

    Rules, Freedom, Sin, and Virtue

    Participate in hands-on activities that will help your students understand the relationship among these concepts, so they can see the relevance of morality and be led to deeper conversion.

  • 12:00-12:45pm

    Lunch

  • 12:45-1:30pm

    The Freedom of a Virtuous Life

    Enjoy the second presentation by Dr. Ramage, followed by Q&A.

  • 1:30-2:20pm

    Because I’m Happy!: The Beatitudes as the Path to Happiness

    Help your students more clearly define happiness and see how the Beatitudes are a blueprint for that happiness.
