A PreK–12 program that equips parents and educators to address the body, identity, sexuality, marriage, and gender — building from wonder in the youngest grades to direct, documentary-style treatment of the hardest questions in high school. No prior Theology of the Body training required.
Why We Made My Body, My Identity
Grounded in Sacred Scripture and St. John Paul II’s Theology of the Body, and built by a team with more than twenty-five years of catechetical experience.
The questions come early
Children meet claims about identity, the body, and gender long before anyone plans to discuss them. The question is not whether they will hear about it, but who they will hear it from first.
Most adults feel unequipped
Faithful parents and teachers often know what the Church teaches but not how to say it to a seven-year-old — or to a sixteen-year-old who has already heard the opposite.
A foundation before a rebuttal
Rather than opening with controversy, the program builds a positive vision first: life, male and female, family, the body, and marriage. The difficult topics land on ground already prepared.
Four Series, PreK Through 12th Grade
Each series is vertically aligned — built on what came before, while reviewing key concepts so a student who joins late is not left behind.
PreK – 2nd Grade
The Discovery Series
Five original storybooks introduce children to a positive, wholesome vision of Christian life. Discovering the Wonder of Life, for instance, teaches the miracle of life in the womb without ever mentioning abortion.

The Journey Series
Five animated videos carry Theology of the Body into family life through story. Like the Discovery Series, they lay the groundwork without naming controversial topics directly.

The Design Series
Ten live-action explainer videos begin addressing sensitive topics directly, with explanations and interviews from TOBET team members and outside experts.

The Identity Series
Twenty live-action explainer videos and expert interviews take on the full range of questions students are facing, in a documentary style built to hold a teenager’s attention.

This program is available in English only.
You Decide What They Hear, and When
The program is deliberately staged. Nothing controversial is named in the younger grades; the harder conversations are reserved for students old enough to have them.
PreK – 5th Grade
Foundation first
The Discovery and Journey series do not directly address abortion, transgenderism, homosexuality, pornography, or promiscuity. They build the vocabulary and the vision those conversations will later require, by exploring:

6th – 12th Grade
The questions, answered
The Design and Identity series use documentary-style explainers and expert interviews to work through the nuances of:
• Abortion
• Homosexuality
• Pornography
• Promiscuity

What Comes With Every Level
The same support at every grade, whether the level is built on storybooks or on video.
Instructor Guides
One guide per level, with activities written for a range of learning styles. Assessments are included.
Parent Guides
A shorter guide per level, so parents can learn the material alongside their children and carry the conversation home.
No prior training needed
Educator-friendly throughout. No previous Theology of the Body knowledge is required to teach any component of the program.
Vertically aligned
Each level builds on the last, but key concepts are reviewed — so a student who missed an earlier book or video is not greatly disadvantaged.

With more than twenty-five years of teaching and catechetical experience, Monica Ashour, M.T.S., M.Hum. assembled a team of specialists in childhood development, children’s literature, graphic design, and curriculum — the same team behind The Body Matters.
Frequently Asked Questions
When will it be available?
My Body, My Identity is in pilot. Schools and parishes can sign on now to be among the first to use it — get in touch and we will walk you through what piloting involves.
Does it talk about sexuality with young children?
No. Through 5th grade the program never names abortion, transgenderism, homosexuality, pornography, or promiscuity. Those topics are introduced beginning in 6th grade.
Do I need Theology of the Body training to teach it?
No. Every component is written to be educator-friendly, and no previous Theology of the Body knowledge is needed to use any part of the program.
Can parents see what their children are learning?
Yes. Each level includes a Parent Guide — a shorter companion written so parents can learn the material themselves and engage their children at home.
What if we start in the middle of the program?
Each series is vertically aligned, but key concepts are reviewed as they recur, so students who join partway through are not greatly disadvantaged.
How does it relate to The Body Matters?
Both come from TOBET. The Body Matters is the PreK–8 religion program; My Body, My Identity is the PreK–12 program built specifically for the questions of identity, sexuality, marriage, and gender.
