The Celebration of the Sacrament of the Eucharist

  • Communion
    :
    Communion is a title for the Eucharist that refers to how all who receive the Body and Blood of Christ are united to Him and one another.
  • Eucharist
    :
    Jesus's body and blood.
  • Liturgy
    :
    The “public work” of the Church. It is the participation of the People of God in “the work of God,” which is our salvation from sin. The liturgy is our public worship as Christians.
  • Mass
    :
    The liturgical celebration and memorial of Christ’s sacrifice on the Cross and Resurrection from the dead. At every Mass, the priest changes the bread and wine into Christ’s Body and Blood in the Eucharist. The Mass is divided into two sections: the Liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
