Overview
Most of this year focuses on the moral life, our loving response to God’s great gift to us, and children explore more deeply what it means to be created in the image and likeness of God.
Units
In this unit, we learn that God is Good and that we are made in His image and likeness, taking a closer look at what that means for the soul. In this unit, we learn about the conscience, what it means to love like God, and how to best react to our feelings and cultivate a well-formed conscience. This Unit looks at the nature of sin and temptation, as well as the great need for God's mercy and the necessity of the virtues. In this unit, we take a deeper look into the ten commandments, the great commandments, and the new commandment. We also look at the relations between freedom, obedience, and happiness. In this unit, we learn what me must do to live like Christ, from the Works of Mercy, to the understanding of the Four Loves. All the while, we are inspired to rejoice in the truth. In this unit, we learn about and explore the Beatitudes, and living the Values of the Kingdom of God. In this unit, we learn how our communities and the community of the Saints can help to live out God's call to love.
