The priesthood is a calling to serve the Church in imitation of Christ Himself, even to the Cross.
The priesthood is a calling to serve the Church in imitation of Christ Himself, even to the Cross.
Jesus Christ commands His followers to make disciples and build the Kingdom of God
The universal call to holiness is the vocation of every human person; God calls each of us to be holy as He is holy, that is, to be saints.
The four GospelsMatthew, Mark, Luke, and Johnare the heart of all the Scriptures because they are our principal source for the life and teaching of the Incarnate Word, our Savior (CCC 125).
Jesus is the Word who became flesh, the Son of God, who was with God from all eternity and is fully God and fully man.
The proclamation of the Kingdom of God (or the Kingdom of Heaven) was the central message of Christs public ministry.
The Paschal Mystery refers to Christs Passion, Death, Resurrection, and Ascension, which saved us from sin and death for new life as sons and daughters of God.
The Holy Spirit was revealed to the Church at Pentecost and inspired the Apostles to preach the Good News of Jesus Christ.
The Epistles were written to individuals, Church communities, and to the universal Church to communicate, affirm what was good and true, and admonish sinfulness and errors.
Studying the history of the Church gives us a stronger sense of who we are, what we believe and why, and allows us to forge a path into the future that is firmly rooted in successes, wisdom and a living tradition.
There are different senses of Scripture that must be understood in order to read and comprehend Gods Word.
In this lesson your children will learn that the disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray. In response to their request, Jesus gave them the Our Father, also known as the Lord’s Prayer. The Our Father is the fundamental Christian prayer; it is the prayer given to us by the Lord Himself. The Our Father teaches us to ask for those things that we need in order to live as sons and daughters of God. When we pray the Our Father with hearts that have experienced conversion, we enter into the mystery of the covenant with our God. That is why we can say that the Lord’s Prayer is at the center of Scripture, and is the prayer of the Church.
In this lesson we learn that through His life Jesus revealed to us the truth of who He is, the life He has planned for us, and the way to live in order to spend eternity with Him in Heaven.
The aim of this lesson is for your children to understand what it means to be initiated into something, as well as how and why the Sacraments of Initiation bring them into the fullness of the Christian life.
God enacted a plan of salvation throughout Salvation History that culminated in the Death and Resurrection of His only Son, Jesus Christ.
