Jesus remains present to us in His Church through the Sacraments, especially in the Eucharist, and through His teaching, which has been handed on through the centuries.
As the sacrament of salvation, the Church contains everything we need for communion with God. Through her, Gods grace is made visible to humanity; she lacks nothing.
Baptism makes us adopted children of God and incorporates us into the Mystical Body of Christ – His Church
When we are baptized as Christians, all our sins are forgiven, including Original Sin, and God makes us His adopted children, restoring our inheritance as partakers in His divine life. We are no longer the lost descendants of Adam; we are children of God.
In this lesson your children explore the gateway to the Christian life: Baptism. In Baptism, your children were cleansed of the stain of Original Sin and became part of God’s family.
Confirmation is often misunderstood as a kind of “graduation” or public acceptance of the Faith. In fact, the Sacrament of Confirmation is an important step on the path of Christian initiation that completes, or confirms, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit received at Baptism and sends the person out to proclaim boldly the Good News.
God gave human beings the special responsibility of being the stewards of creation.
Baptism is prefigured throughout Salvation History.
God gave human beings the special responsibility of being the stewards of creation.
The Mass is a representation of Christ’s sacrifice on the Cross.
A Sacrament is an outward and visible sign of an inward and invisible grace.
In order to live the good life we must cultivate not only the inner life of moral virtue, but the outer life by our participation in our communities, participation in the Sacraments, and instruction by those holy ones who came before us.
After death, our souls are sent to one of three states of being: Heaven, Purgatory, or Hell.
Sin is an offense against God.
