The Book of Revelation

The Book of Revelation is the most well-known example of apocalyptic literature and communicates truths about Heaven and the end of time through visions filled with dense and sometimes strange symbolism that can be challenging to interpret.

Lesson Vocabulary

  • Revelation (Apocalypse)
    :
    (n.): The names given to the final book of the New Testament and the Bible that is a highly symbolic account of a vision of Heaven granted to St. John the Evangelist. From Latin and Greek words meaning “to reveal” or “to unveil.”
  • Cherubim
    :
    (n.): A classification of angel seen in visions by the prophet Ezekiel and St. John the Evangelist who directly attend to God.
