Lesson 1: Exploring Conscience with Sacred Art
This conscience is God’s voice in our hearts.
This conscience is God’s voice in our hearts.
God speaks to us in our consciences, helping us make good choices.
We need to learn and practice how to make good moral choices.
When we love unselfishly, we live as the Lord lives.
Learning to know and choose the good is a habit we can develop.
Our feelings are not always accurate signs of whether a choice is right or wrong.
A well-formed conscience helps us make good decisions, in spite of how we might initially feel.
By the development of conscience, a person is able to take responsibility for his or her choices.
Jesus died to save us from our sins.
When we use our free will to choose evil, we sin.
We often feel drawn to make selfish choices, because of Original Sin. This is called temptation.
All sins hurt our relationship with God, but mortal sin completely turn us away from God.
God’s mercy is infinite.
Mercy is love that continues even when it is rejected.
Virtues help us be receptive to God’s grace.
